This silky rich chocolate cream cheese frosting has the most amazing soft texture and delicious flavor. It's super easy to make and goes well with many types of cakes and desserts.
Take the butter out of the fridge about 10 minutes before making the frosting.
115 g butter
Add the slightly softened butter to a stand mixer and beat briefly. Alternatively, use a mixing bowl and a hand mixer.
Add the cold cream cheese and mix with the butter for about 30 seconds.
230 g cream cheese
Add vanilla, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar. Mix on low speed until combined, then increase to medium speed and beat until slightly lighter and fluffy.
1 tsp vanilla, 60 g cocoa powder, 380 g powdered sugar
Gradually add milk and mix until the desired consistency is reached. The frosting should hold its shape when piped but not be too stiff, as that would make piping difficult.
1-4 tbsp milk

*Yield: 1 batch is enough to pipe frosting onto 18-20 cupcakes.
